Vietjet Signs Strategic Agreements with GMR Airports, Bird Group to Boost India–Vietnam Connectivity

Hyderabad, May 8 (TNT): New-age carrier Vietjet Air has signed strategic cooperation agreements with GMR Airports Limited and Bird Group to strengthen collaboration in aviation infrastructure, services, technology and connectivity between India and Vietnam.

The agreements were signed during the India–Vietnam Business Forum held as part of the state visit of Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam to India, the airline said in a release on Friday.

According to the company, the partnerships aim to expand cooperation between India and Vietnam in aviation, logistics, infrastructure, tourism and technology, while strengthening economic, trade and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Under the agreement, Vietjet and GMR Airports Limited will explore opportunities to jointly develop air connectivity, airport infrastructure, logistics services, smart airport systems and long-term investment initiatives.

The partnership with Bird Group will focus on ground handling services, aviation training, travel technology and hospitality services to improve passenger experience and operational efficiency.

Speaking on the occasion, Dinh Viet Phuong said the partnerships with Indian enterprises would help create new connectivity corridors across aviation, trade, technology and investment sectors in the Asia-Pacific region.

Vietjet has played a major role in strengthening connectivity between India and Vietnam through its expanding flight network linking Vietnam with major Indian cities.

The airline currently operates 25 routes with around 80 flights every week between the two countries and has carried more than 2.5 million passengers on India–Vietnam sectors so far.
