Telangana Governor Inaugurates Free Artificial Limb Fitment Camp in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 3 (TNT): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated a mega free artificial limb and caliper fitment camp organised by Narayan Seva Sansthan at the Exhibition Grounds here on Sunday.

The camp, held in collaboration with CSR partners including Make a Change Foundation (UK) and Shree Swaminarayan Temple Willesden (UK), provided 815 modular artificial limbs and calipers free of cost to 745 differently-abled persons.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said the initiative reflected the “true victory of humanity” and praised the organisation’s service efforts.

He also interacted with beneficiaries and assured support from Lok Bhavan.

Andhra Pradesh Minister of Industries and Commerce, T. G. Bharath, who attended as Guest of Honour, described the initiative as a “life-transforming mission” that empowers differently-abled individuals and helps integrate them into mainstream society.

He announced plans to organise a similar camp in his constituency.

According to organisers, over 1,000 persons had registered during a prior selection camp, of whom 745 were provided assistive devices during the event.

Beneficiaries were also trained in the use and maintenance of the limbs.

The programme featured a felicitation ceremony for donors and supporters, while several public representatives, including Telangana MLC Boggur Dayanand, attended and appreciated the initiative.

Founded in 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has provided free artificial limbs to over 39,000 differently-abled persons and medical assistance to more than 4.5 lakh beneficiaries.
