Hyderabad, May 2 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday said that government whips act as the “eyes and ears” of the administration and play a key role in identifying and resolving public issues.
Chairing a review meeting with Assembly and Council whips at MCRHRD, Revanth Reddy discussed key concerns across the state, particularly drinking water supply, irrigation needs during the summer season, and the progress of paddy procurement.
The CM directed officials to expedite procurement operations and address related bottlenecks without delay.
The whips briefed him on ground-level issues in their respective constituencies.
Revanth Reddy instructed the whips to remain closely connected with the public and work proactively to resolve grievances.
He also advised that district administrations be kept alert to ensure timely response to emerging issues.
Emphasising grassroots outreach, he said welfare schemes must effectively reach beneficiaries and build public confidence in the government’s responsiveness.
The Chief Minister suggested utilising media platforms to enhance awareness about government programmes and directed the whips to regularly update him on public concerns.
He assured that he would be available once a week to coordinate with the whips and review ground-level developments.
Among those present were MP Vem Narender Reddy, Legislative Council Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, and whips Adi Srinivas, Beerla Ilaiah, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, Vijayaramana Rao, Ramchandra Naik, Vemula Veeresham, Addanki Dayakar, and Balmuri Venkat.
