C.V. Anand Appointed as New DGP of Telangana

Hyderabad, Apr 28 (TNT): Senior IPS officer C. V. Anand has been appointed as the Director General of Police (Head of Police Force), Telangana.

According to an official order issued on Tuesday, Anand, a 1991-batch IPS officer will assume charge on May1, 2026.

He is currently serving as Special Chief Secretary (Home) to the state government.

He will succeed the incumbent DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy, who is set to retire from service on April 30.

Anand has held several key positions during his career, including Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and Cyberabad, and Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

With over three decades of experience in policing and administration, he is regarded as an officer known for adopting technology-driven and reform-oriented policing practices.
