Five Migrant Workers Killed, several injured as Crane Collapses in Telangana
Hyderabad, Apr 27 (TNT): At least five migrant workers were killed and several others injured after a heavy duty crane collapsed at a cement brick manufacturing unit near Shankarpally (Ranga Reddy District) on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday evening, police said.
The incident occurred during strong winds and rain, when the crane fell onto a shed where workers had taken shelter.
The deceased are believed to be migrant labourers from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.
The injured were shifted to a government hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination.
A case was registered and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident, police added.
