UWYC International Food Festival Showcases Global Flavours in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Feb 2 (TNT): The United World of Young Chefs (UWYC) International Food Festival was held at The Glass Onion, Gachibowli here on Monday, featuring traditional dishes prepared by 10 contestants from the regional round of the IIHM International Young Chef Olympiad (YCO) 2026.

Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana,who attended as Chief Guest,  said Hyderabad has enjoyed the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy status since 2019, recognising its rich and diverse culinary heritage.

He noted that Hyderabad was the only Indian city with this distinction for several years until Lucknow was recognised recently.

He also highlighted the state government’s Culinary Experiential Tourism Accelerator (TCETA), aimed at promoting regional cuisine and empowering rural and women entrepreneurs.

The participants will compete in the first round of the YCO 2026 in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Regional rounds will be held across Hyderabad, Kolkata, Goa, Bengaluru and Pune, with the grand finale scheduled in Kolkata on February 6, where the winner will receive ₹15 lakh.
