AP CM Naidu targets DMK over Women’s Bill, Pushes NDA Pitch in Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Apr 20 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday sharpened his political attack on the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), accusing it of doing “great injustice” to women by opposing the Women’s Reservation Bill, while urging voters to back the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for accelerated development in Tamil Nadu.

Addressing a meeting of industrialists and business leaders during his two-day campaign in the State, Naidu alleged that the INDIA bloc, including the DMK and the Indian National Congress, had harmed southern states by obstructing key reforms such as the Women’s Reservation Bill and the Delimitation Bill.

Pitching for a “double engine government”, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh had witnessed rapid development and increased investments due to coordination with the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and asserted that Tamil Nadu could achieve similar growth under NDA rule.

Blending political messaging with cultural outreach, Naidu highlighted shared Dravidian roots between Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and praised Tamil heritage, language and icons including Subramania Bharati, Thiruvalluvar, C. V. Raman and A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.

The Chief Minister alleged that Tamil Nadu had lost economic momentum under the present regime and called for restoring its “past glory” through NDA governance.

He also appealed for support to allies including the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Naidu drew attention for addressing the gathering partly in Tamil, striking a chord with the audience, and expressed happiness at celebrating his birthday among the people of the State. He

He called for extending support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and for the return of “Amma’s governance” in the state, urging voters to ensure victory for the NDA alliance.
