BITS Pilani WILP Graduates 106 Siemens Professionals

Hyderabad, Apr 20 (TNT): BITS Pilani, through its Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP), held the convocation ceremony for the second batch of professionals from Siemens Technology & Services Pvt. Ltd. (STSPL) at its Hyderabad campus recently.

A total of 106 working professionals were awarded Master of Technology degrees, including 61 in Data Science & Engineering and 45 in Software Engineering, marking a key milestone in the ongoing industry-academia collaboration between BITS Pilani WILP and Siemens.

This is the second graduating cohort since the partnership began in 2022.

With an earlier batch of 142 graduates, the total number of Siemens employees who have completed advanced degrees through this collaboration has reached 248.

The programme enables professionals to pursue higher education without interrupting their careers, combining academic rigour with real-world industry application.

The M.Tech programmes are designed to align with evolving industry needs, focusing on areas such as data-driven decision-making, intelligent automation, and digital transformation.

The curriculum integrates theoretical learning with hands-on problem-solving rooted in workplace challenges, preparing graduates to take on leadership roles in modern engineering environments.

Senior leaders from both institutions attended the convocation, highlighting the importance of continued investment in workforce development and lifelong learning.

Prof. P.B. Venkataraman, Dean – WILP at BITS Pilani, said the programme demonstrates how strong collaboration between academia and industry can create future-ready talent at scale.

He praised the graduates for balancing demanding professional roles with academic excellence.

Srikanth Vachaspati, Head – P&O at Siemens Technology & Services Pvt. Ltd., described the moment as a proud milestone for the organisation, emphasising that the partnership enables employees to gain world-class postgraduate education while applying their learning directly within Siemens’ work environment.

The initiative continues to serve as a model for industry-integrated education in India, strengthening the talent pipeline for the country’s fast-evolving technology sector.
