Gleneagles Hospital Hosts ‘Ride for a Cause’ Rally on World Liver Day in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Apr 19 (TNT) :  Gleneagles Hospital Lakdi Ka Pul, part of the Fortis Healthcare network, organised a motorbike rally titled “Ride for a Cause” to mark World Liver Day, observed annually on April 19.

Held in line with this year’s theme,“Solid Habits, Strong Liver,” the rally aimed to raise awareness on liver health and the importance of early detection of liver diseases.

Over 500 bikers, including motorcycle clubs, professionals and healthcare staff, participated in the event across Hyderabad.

The rally was flagged off by R. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Saifabad, Hyderabad, in the presence of senior doctors and administrators.

The convoy began at the hospital premises in Lakdi-ka-pul, traversed key city routes, and returned to the starting point, drawing public attention with banners promoting liver health and road safety.

Doctors including Dr Kavya Harika Dendukuri, Dr Tharun Gattu, Dr Manikanteswara Rao and Dr G Victor Vinod Babu interacted with participants, stressing the importance of early screening, balanced diet, regular exercise and reduced alcohol consumption to prevent liver diseases.

Speaking on the occasion, Bharat Kanth Reddy, Regional CEO Hyderabad and Chennai, Gleneagle Hospitals said, World Liver Day highlights how daily lifestyle choices influence long-term health, adding that the hospital is committed to promoting preventive care and awareness.

Bharath M, Chief Administrator, Gleneagles Hospital, Lakdi-ka-pul,   noted that increasing cases of liver disease among younger populations underline the need for disciplined habits and timely screening.

As part of the programme, participants were provided educational material on liver health and counselled on risk factors such as obesity, fatty liver, diabetes, viral hepatitis and alcohol-related liver disease.

The hospital announced plans to conduct more such awareness initiatives in collaboration with local communities to promote liver health across the city.
