CJI Surya Kant Lays Foundation for Telangana HC Zone-II Complex

Hyderabad, Apr 5 (TNT): Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant laid the foundation stone for the new Telangana High Court Zone-II complex at Rajendranagar in the city, on Sunday.

The project, coming up at Budvel, involves an estimated investment of ₹2,583 crore and will be developed over 100 acres to strengthen judicial infrastructure in the state.

The proposed complex will feature modern courtrooms, administrative blocks and residential facilities for judges, forming a self-contained judicial campus.

Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy,  several Supreme Court judges, High Court judges were among those present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, the CJI said that robust judicial infrastructure is essential for safeguarding democracy and improving the efficiency of the justice delivery system.

The project is part of a broader initiative to enhance judicial capacity and provide comprehensive facilities for the judiciary in Telangana.

Addressing the gathering , Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that over 100 acres of land have been allocated at Rajendranagar for the project.

He said the project is targeted for completion by December 2027 and added that works are underway across Telangana for 49 courts and several residential complexes to strengthen judicial infrastructure.

Reiterating the need for institutional harmony, he said all pillars of democracy must function with mutual respect and avoid conflict.

“We respect not only judicial verdicts but also observations and opinions,” he said.

Describing the day as auspicious for Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said the initiative marks the beginning of a landmark institution that will serve society for the next century.
