Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Challenges Opposition, Releases UDF Manifesto in Kerala

Kochi, Apr 2 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday challenged opposition parties to visit Telangana and witness the implementation of the government’s “Six Guarantees.”

Addressing a gathering after releasing the UDF manifesto for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections here, Reddy criticised opposition leaders for questioning the feasibility of welfare guarantees, asserting that Telangana stands as a model for effective governance and delivery.

He said he would personally demonstrate the implementation of schemes if a delegation led by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visits the state.

Launching a sharp attack, the Chief Minister alleged that both Vijayan and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao presided over “corrupt and despotic” regimes, and expressed confidence that a political change similar to Telangana would take place in Kerala.

He also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that central funds are a right of the people and not a matter of charity.

Highlighting Telangana’s governance record, the Chief Minister said the Congress government implemented its guarantees from the first Cabinet meeting, including farm loan waivers, financial assistance to farmers under Rythu Bharosa, free bus travel for women, free electricity up to 200 units, and housing under the Indiramma scheme.

Reddy said Telangana is on a high-growth trajectory and aims to achieve a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047 under the “Telangana Rising Vision.”

The UDF manifesto, termed “Indira’s Five Guarantees,” includes promises such as free bus travel for women, ₹1,000 monthly assistance for female college students, enhanced welfare pensions, health insurance coverage, and interest-free loans for youth.

Senior Congress and UDF leaders were present at the event.
