UoH’s ASPIRE-BioNEST, Indian Immunologicals Ink Pact to Boost Biotech Innovation

Hyderabad, Mar 27 (TNT): ASPIRE-BioNEST at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Immunologicals Ltd to accelerate biotech innovation under the One Health framework.

The partnership aims to support startups working in therapies, diagnostics, medical devices and allied technologies, with a focus on translational research and commercialization, the University said in a release here on Friday.

It will facilitate co-development, validation, technology transfer and market access, helping bridge the gap between innovation and real-world deployment.

The MoU was signed between Dr. Anand Kumar, Director, Indian Immunologicals Ltd., and Prof. S. Rajagopal, Director, ASPIRE-BioNEST, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

Under the collaboration, startups will gain access to technical mentorship, domain expertise and advanced facilities of Indian Immunologicals, including capabilities in vaccine development and manufacturing.

Opportunities to leverage contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) capabilities for scaling up innovations will also be explored.

The two organisations will jointly organise hackathons, pre-incubation programmes, seminars and conferences to promote entrepreneurship. Indian Immunologicals will also explore supporting the incubation ecosystem through CSR initiatives.

Officials said the partnership would strengthen industry-startup collaboration, accelerate commercialization of innovations and contribute to building a globally competitive biotechnology ecosystem in India.
