Hyderabad, Jan 31 (TNT): Airbus Corporate Helicopters on Saturday said it has secured a landmark order in the Indian civil aviation market with a private customer signing up for one H175 super-medium
helicopter and two ACH160 helicopters, marking a significant milestone for the country’s rotary-wing sector.
The customer, an existing ACH160 operator, will become India’s first civil operator of the H175, introducing the super-medium twin-engine helicopter into the domestic market.
The H175 will be delivered in 2026 in a 16-seat configuration, while the two ACH160 helicopters, customised exclusively to the customer’s requirements, are scheduled for delivery in 2027.
Calling the order a strong signal of market maturity, Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters in India and South Asia, said the repeat purchase reflects growing confidence in premium civil helicopter operations in the country.
He noted that both the ACH160 and H175 are well-suited for passenger transport, offering a blend of high performance, comfort and reliability.
Designed for business and VIP operations, the ACH160 combines advanced technology with refined cabin design, enabling fast, efficient point-to-point connectivity for corporate leaders.
Its emphasis on reliability and elegance has made it a preferred choice in the premium helicopter segment.
The H175, a key part of Airbus Helicopters’ civil portfolio, brings extended range, higher payload capacity and operational versatility.
Equipped with advanced Helionix avionics, low vibration levels and one of the quietest acoustic signatures in its class, the helicopter is positioned to deliver enhanced comfort and safety for passenger transportation in India.
The order underlines Airbus Helicopters’ growing footprint in India’s expanding civil and business aviation ecosystem, as demand rises for modern, high-capability rotary-wing aircraft.
