DGP Invites Telangana Governor for All India Police Football Championship Inaugural

Hyderabad, Mar 23(TNT) : Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy on Monday invited Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 74th B.N. Mullick Memorial All India Police Football Championship-2026 as Chief Guest.

The invitation was extended during a meeting at Lok Bhavan, where the DGP briefed the Governor on the arrangements being made for the prestigious national-level tournament.

The championship is scheduled to commence on March 25 at 3 PM at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, with participation from police teams representing various States, Union Territories, and Central Armed Police Forces.

The inaugural ceremony will feature a ceremonial Guard of Honour by police contingents, a march past by participating teams, and the unfurling of the All India Police Sports Flag. The Governor is expected to formally declare the championship open.

Cultural programmes have also been planned as part of the inaugural event.

The tournament aims to provide a platform for talented football players from police forces across the country to showcase their skills while promoting sportsmanship and coordination among security agencies.

Senior officials, including RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy Director Abhilasha Bisht and IGP (Sports) Gajarao Bhupal, were present during the meeting.
