Telangana emergency centre urges safe Diwali celebrations, advises public to dial 112

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (TNT) : The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) on Saturday urged people to celebrate Diwali safely and responsibly, cautioning against fire hazards, injuries and electrical accidents while using firecrackers and decorative lighting.

In a press release, the TGiCCC advised people to immediately dial 112 in the event of a fire, accident or any other emergency.

It said the Telangana Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) operates round the clock and coordinates emergency assistance from police, fire and medical services.

Prompt calls to the emergency helpline could help save lives and minimise damage to property, it said.

The TGiCCC cautioned people to exercise care while bursting firecrackers and using electrical decorations to prevent fires, explosions and electrical short circuits.

It wished people a safe and happy Diwali.
