AHSP of Carrier Command Post Tracked (CCPT) Vehicle Transferred at Ordnance Factory Medak

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (TNT): In a key step to bolster indigenous defence capabilities, the Authority of Holding Sealed Particulars (AHSP) for the Carrier Command Post Tracked (CCPT) vehicle was formally transferred at Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK) here on Friday.

Designed by Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), the CCPT serves as a command vehicle for effective deployment of self-propelled (SP) artillery guns and is developed on an extended BMP-2 chassis to match the mobility of SP guns on tracked platforms, a defence release said here.

The AHSP transfer was conducted between CVRDE and the Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Infantry Combat Vehicles) – Nodal DGQA, in the presence of senior officials from DRDO, DGQA, OFMK, BEL Bengaluru, and Indian Army representatives.

Key attendees included  SS Prasad, CGM OFMK;  Rajesh Kumar J, Director CVRDE; Brig. Sandeep Acharyya, Controller CQA(ICV); Brig. K Sri Ram Kumar, Controller CQA(HV); Ms. Sangeeta Srivastava, GM BEL; and other senior officers.

The ceremony paves the way for delivery of 41 CCPT production vehicles to the services by March 2026, to operate alongside K9 VAJRA SP guns in forward areas.

The CCPT features the Integrated Command, Control, and Communication System for Artillery Tracked (i3CAT), accommodating a crew of seven plus driver and gunner, and can function as both regimental and battery-level command post.

Indigenously designed and developed through collaboration between DRDO, DPSUs, DGQA, OFMK, and BEL, the CCPT joins other BMP-based platforms produced at OFMK, including Carrier Mortar Tracked (CMT), Armoured Ambulance Tracked (AAT), and Infantry Combat Vehicle Command (ICVC).

Three of these platforms have already been inducted into service, while the fourth is undergoing trial evaluation and development.
