Piyush Goyal assures centre’s full support for Telangana’s development
New Delhi, Oct 29 (TNT) : Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday assured the Centre’s full support for Telangana’s development and said the State’s ambitious target of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047 was achievable through collective efforts.
Addressing the curtain-raiser for the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2026, he praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision and said the State had immense opportunities in pharmaceuticals, aerospace, defence, electronics, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and food processing.
Goyal said investors looked for policy stability, regulatory clarity and transparency in business operations.
He expressed confidence that the global summit would be a success and invited domestic and international investors to explore opportunities in Telangana.
Emphasising export promotion, he suggested that the State identify 50 products and services with high export potential and strengthen the branding, packaging and traceability of its Geographical Indication-tagged products.
Tandur red gram, Chapata chillies and Nizamabad turmeric had considerable potential in global markets, he said, adding that better export prices could raise farmers’ incomes.
The recent export of red gram from Hyderabad to Australia illustrated the opportunities available for Telangana’s agricultural produce, the Union Minister said.
The Union Minister called for moving beyond generic medicines and promoting high-value branded pharmaceuticals, innovative drugs and biosimilars.
He also urged the State to attract investments in aircraft component manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul services, defence equipment, electronics and emerging technologies.
Referring to the Centre’s industrial initiatives, he cited the Industrial Smart City at Zaheerabad and the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal.
Goyal said cooperation between the Centre and the State was essential to achieve global leadership in industry.
Every new investment, export, job and startup would contribute to economic growth, he said, expressing hope that the Telangana Rising Global Summit would attract investments, generate employment and promote inclusive development.
