“Feel Good vs Be Good: Beingfulness and the Path of Sreyas,” Says Prof Ram Nidumolu at ICETAO-2026

Hyderabad, Feb 27 (TNT) : The Department of Operations and IT at ICFAI Business School Hyderabad inaugurated the two-day International Conference on “Emerging Technologies, Analytics and Operations” (ICETAO-2026) at the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education campus, here on Friday

Delivering the keynote address, Prof Ram Nidumolu of Indian School of Business (ISB) spoke on the theme “Feel Good vs Be Good: Beingfulness and the Path of Sreyas,” linking sustainability with ancient Indian wisdom from the Upanishads.

Drawing from his book Two Birds on a Tree, he contrasted material cravings with the concept of inner fulfilment and purposeful living.

“Sustainability is not about saving the planet alone — it is about reinventing business for the future,” Prof Nidumolu said, emphasising that businesses must move beyond superficial ‘feel good’ initiatives towards deeper, value-driven transformation.

The inaugural session was attended by Prof T. Koti Reddy, Vice Chancellor (in charge), IFHE; Dr Vijayalakshmi, Registrar; Prof K.S. Venu Gopal Rao, Director, IBS Hyderabad; Prof D. Satish, Dean; and Dr C. Padmavathi, Dean, among others.

Prof Koti Reddy highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence, citing examples of data randomisation, while Prof Venu Gopal Rao discussed the role of emerging technologies, including Generative AI, in contributing to India’s development vision for 2047.

Over 82 participants from India and abroad have registered for the conference, presenting research papers on emerging technologies, analytics and operations management.

The opening remarks were delivered by Conference Conveners Dr Manish Kumar and Dr G. Siva Krishna.

The two-day conference aims to serve as a platform for academia and industry to deliberate on innovation, sustainability and technology-driven growth.
