Singareni Revises Pay Scales of 1,800 Executives on Coal India Lines as Dasara Gift

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday fulfilled the long-pending demand of Singareni Collieries Company Limited executives, with the management issuing orders revising their pay scales on the lines of Coal India Limited.

The decision will benefit around 1,800 executives in E-1 to E-7 cadres, with financial benefits effective from September 25, 2026, the state-owned mining company said in a release.

The revised basic pay will be notionally effective from January 1, 2017, while the financial benefits will be applicable from September 25, 2026, the date on which the Singareni Board approved the proposal.

The revised salaries will be paid from October onwards, according to the orders issued by Company Director (Personnel) Gowtham Potru on Monday evening.

Under the revised pay structure, the basic pay of E-1 cadre executives has been increased from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000, E-2 from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 70,000, E-3 from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 80,000, E-4 from Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 90,000 and E-5 from Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1 lakh.

The basic pay of E-6 executives has been revised from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1.20 lakh, while that of E-7 executives has been increased from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.20 lakh.

The revision follows representations by Singareni executives seeking implementation of the pay structure adopted by Maharatna public sector companies, following the approval of a similar proposal by the Union Ministry of Coal and Coal India management.

Responding to their request, Bhatti directed Singareni management in July to ensure that the executives received favourable news before Dasara.

The management subsequently constituted a committee to examine the proposal, and the revision was approved based on its recommendations and the Board’s approval.

Leaders of the Singareni Executives’ Association thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka and the State Government for addressing their long-standing demand.

They expressed happiness over the decision and said they would work with greater dedication towards meeting the state’s energy requirements and contributing to its development.

The pay revision comes after the State Government recently announced a bonus of Rs. 596 crore for nearly 39,000 Singareni workers and employees as a Dasara gift.

Bhatti also announced a bonus of Rs. 5,500 each for Singareni contract workers, recognising their contribution to the company.
