Hyd: ISB Launches Fellowship to Fund Student Startups
The fellowship will be funded through the Startup Endowment Fund established by the Hyderabad cohort of the PGP Class of 2015, with ISB supplementing the corpus to ensure continued annual support.
The grant will be awarded to an eligible student or student-led team from the ongoing Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) class to pursue an entrepreneurial venture, the School said in a release on Friday.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the initiative was exchanged between ISB Dean Professor Madan Pillutla and representatives of the PGP Class of 2015 Hyderabad cohort in the presence of DNV Kumara Guru, Senior Director – Advancement, Alumni Engagement and External Relations, ISB, and Saumya Kumar, Director, ISB I-Venture.
Professor Pillutla said the fellowship reflected the commitment of ISB alumni to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs.
The early-stage financial support provided through ISPROUTE would help student founders take forward promising ideas and develop their ventures, he said.
Anchana C, representing the PGP Class of 2015, said the initiative was aimed at extending to future students the confidence and opportunities the alumni had received at ISB.
The endowment would support one student entrepreneur every year in taking the initial steps towards building a venture, backed by the institution’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, she added.
The initiative reinforces ISB’s efforts to promote entrepreneurship and support student-led ventures through financial assistance and institutional support.
