Addressing the gathering, Naidu congratulated the organisers and the committee for hosting the festival and welcomed Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy, on his first visit to Vijayawada as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
Naidu said the enthusiasm of the youth gave him confidence that young people could achieve anything globally. Though people belonged to different states, their aspirations were the same, he said, adding that Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka and other states should progress alongside the country.
He expressed confidence that the Godavari–Cauvery river-linking project would become a reality, stating that linking the Pennar, Godavari, Krishna, Cauvery and Tungabhadra rivers would benefit four states.
He also said India could emerge as the world’s leading nation by 2047 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Naidu thanked Vijay for attending Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 and conveyed his appreciation for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s visit.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay said it was a privilege to participate in the Navaratri celebrations and Vijayawada Utsav 2.0.
Extending Navaratri greetings, he said he had visited Vijayawada to discuss river interlinking with Naidu.
Vijay also thanked the people of Andhra Pradesh for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him.
