Police seize 25 motorcycles during cordon and search operation in Kakinada

Kakinada, Oct 4 (TNT) Police seized 25 motorcycles for want of valid documents during a cordon and search operation conducted in Racherlapeta area under the Two Town Police Station limits here on Sunday, police said.

The operation was conducted in the early hours on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Bindu Madhav as part of the Vajrapahar programme aimed at curbing anti-social and illegal activities.

Port Circle Inspector P Sunil led the operation, in which One Town Circle Inspector M Naga Durgarao, Three Town Circle Inspector SVS Satyanarayana, EAGLE Team Circle Inspector G Venkateswara Rao and Sub-Inspectors from the Two Town and Three Town police stations participated.

Police conducted intensive checks at various locations in Racherlapeta to identify persons involved in illegal activities, suspicious movements and vehicles suspected to be used for illicit transportation of narcotic substances.

The 25 motorcycles without valid documents were seized and shifted to the Two Town Police Station for further enquiry and necessary action.

The EAGLE team also conducted searches of premises to prevent the smuggling and sale of ganja and other narcotic substances, Inspector Sunil said.

He said similar search and inspection operations would continue across the district to curb anti-social activities, ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
