Adani Group commits over Rs 6 lakh crore to Maharashtra, says Pranav Adani
Mumbai, Oct 2 (TNT): The Adani Group has committed investments exceeding Rs 6 lakh crore across key sectors in Maharashtra, including energy, aviation, urban regeneration, data centres and coal gasification, Pranav Adani said.
Addressing the launch of ‘Invest Maharashtra’ here on Thursday, Adani said projects worth Rs 2.6 lakh crore had already been completed or were under execution as part of the group’s investment blueprint.
He said the group’s commitments reflected its long-term partnership with Maharashtra at a time when the state aims to become a USD 1 trillion economy by 2030, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region playing a central role.
Highlighting the group’s aviation investments, Adani said it was managing and transforming Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and developing the greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport, which is eventually expected to handle more than 90 million passengers annually.
The group is also developing integrated airport business and hospitality districts around the two airports.
Through Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited, the group supplies power to more than three million homes and establishments across Mumbai, with over 60 per cent of its power supply sourced from renewable energy, he said. The group is also developing a 1,000 MW high-voltage direct current transmission link to strengthen power supply to Mumbai, alongside pumped-storage hydro projects across the state.
Referring to the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, Adani said the initiative aimed to provide modern housing before relocation, safeguard micro-enterprises and transform the settlement into an integrated economic hub while preserving the community’s character.
He said the launch of Invest Maharashtra would establish a mechanism to translate investor interest into on-ground execution and strengthen the state’s economic growth.
Adani reaffirmed the group’s commitment to working with the Maharashtra government to support industrial development, infrastructure expansion and inclusive growth.
He also commended Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for infrastructure development and ease-of-doing-business reforms, and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar for her work in environmental conservation and rural empowerment.
