Telangana Governor calls upon students to combine knowledge with humility and a spirit of service
Hyderabad, Oct 1(TNT): Telangana Governor and Chief Rector of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday called upon students to cultivate a sense of responsibility and service towards society along with academic excellence.
Speaking at the 26th Convocation of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) here, Shukla advised students to continue the habit of lifelong learning and not consider their education complete with a degree.
He urged them to embrace AI and new technologies while upholding human values such as wisdom, compassion and empathy.
He called upon the youth to move beyond merely seeking employment and become creators, researchers and entrepreneurs driven by new ideas.
The youth should play a significant role in building a developed India by 2047, he said.
The Governor said that true success lies not merely in personal achievements but in using them for the benefit of society, particularly for the upliftment of disadvantaged sections.
He urged students to always remember the contributions and sacrifices of their parents and teachers.
“Be successful, but never lose your humility. Dream big, but always remain connected to your roots. Embrace technology, but never give up human values,” the Governor told the students.
He also called upon the youth to stay away from drugs, adopt a healthy lifestyle and actively participate in the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.
Earlier, former DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V. Kamat delivered the Convocation Address, while In-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. J. Anuradha presented an overview of the University’s progress during the academic year 2025–26.
University Chancellor Justice L. Narasimha Reddy presided over the ceremony.
egistrar Dr. Devesh Nigam were also present. The Governor, along with the dignitaries, presented degrees and medals to the graduating students.
