Hyd: ISB, Max India Foundation launch initiative to strengthen senior care
Hyderabad, Sept 30 (TNT): The Indian School of Business (ISB) and the Max India Foundation (MIF) on Wednesday launched the SCALE (Senior Care Advancement Through Learning and Evidence) Initiative to generate research and evidence aimed at strengthening senior care services in India.
The initiative, supported by a multi-year corporate social responsibility (CSR) grant from MIF, will be implemented by the Max Institute of Healthcare Management (MIHM) at ISB.
It aims to help industry stakeholders and policymakers develop accessible, appropriate and sustainable care models for the country’s growing senior population, the ISB said in a release.
The initiative will focus on consumer behaviour, workforce participation, social inclusion, care delivery models, financing and technology adoption. Antara Senior Care will serve as a founding industry partner.
Launched at ISB’s Hyderabad campus through a stakeholder roundtable, SCALE will bring together researchers, industry representatives and clinicians to examine the changing needs of senior citizens and identify priority areas for action.
The memorandum of understanding for the initiative was exchanged between Tara Singh Vachani, Managing Trustee of Max India Foundation and Executive Chairperson of Antara Senior Care, and ISB Dean Madan Pillutla.
Professor Sarang Deo, Executive Director of MIHM at ISB, said the initiative would build an evidence base to inform business practices and public policy on senior care, including areas such as financing, technology, workforce planning and social inclusion.
Vachani said the initiative would combine research and industry insights to support the development of effective care models and stronger support systems for senior citizens and their families.
SCALE will facilitate research collaborations, data partnerships, pilot projects, evaluations and knowledge exchange.
It also aims to help organisations make informed business and investment decisions, strengthen workforce strategies and expand effective care models.
The initiative will draw on Antara Senior Care’s experience across senior living, care homes, wellness services and chronic disease management, alongside MIHM’s healthcare research expertise.
