Telangana ACB Arrests RI, Private Person in Rs 15,000 Bribery Case
Nalgonda, Sept 28 (TNT): The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a Revenue Inspector (RI) and a private person for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 in Nampally Mandal of Nalgonda district in return for an official favour relating to agricultural land records.
According to an ACB press release, the accused official Rallabandi Gopa Raju, who was also functioning as Joint Sub-Registrar-cum-Revenue Inspector, allegedly accepted the bribe through a private person, identified as Adula Yadagiri, an assistant to the Revenue Inspector.
The ACB said the tainted amount of ₹15,000 was recovered from the private person at the instance of the Revenue Inspector.
It alleged that the public servant had performed his official duty improperly to obtain an undue advantage.
Both accused were being produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally for judicial remand. The case is under investigation.
The ACB has urged people to report demands for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be lodged through WhatsApp at 9440446106 and the bureau’s official social media channels. The bureau said the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
