Heavy demand leads to intense competition for Rs. 300 Tirumala darshan tickets :TTD
Tirumala, Sept 26 (TNT): The release of Rs. 300 Special Entry Darshan tickets has triggered intense competition, with lakhs of devotees attempting to book tickets simultaneously, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) said on Saturday.
In a release, TTD clarified that its online booking platform was functioning efficiently and was supported by technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, load balancing, auto-scaling and distributed architecture.
During peak booking periods, around six lakh users may access the system simultaneously.
Assuming an average of four tickets per user, the potential demand could reach 24 lakh tickets against an available quota of approximately 2.69 lakh tickets, resulting in popular slots being filled within a short time.
TTD explained that the virtual queue mechanism was used to regulate heavy traffic and maintain the stability of the booking platform.
Messages such as “Slot Unavailable” generally indicate that the quota has been exhausted and do not necessarily point to a technical failure, it said.
The payment process involves external payment gateways, banks and UPI networks. Consequently, payment failures may occur at different stages and require separate technical verification, TTD added.
The temple administration said it was continuously improving booking capacity, database performance, security, anti-bot mechanisms and payment processing.
TTD appealed to devotees not to believe unverified information circulating on social media and said unsuccessful booking attempts during periods of peak demand should not automatically be interpreted as a system failure.
