CM Naidu to distribute house-site regularisation pattas to 24,057 families in Vijayawada on Sept 30
Amaravati, Sept 26 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will distribute house-site regularisation pattas to 24,057 families in Vijayawada on September 30 under the Pedalaku Pattabhishekam programme, granting them full ownership rights over their properties.
The regularisation covers 617 acres, equivalent to 29.86 lakh square yards, of land originally covered by NTR-era house-site pattas issued decades ago.
The land has an estimated market value of Rs. 24,297 crore, while the value of the land proposed for regularisation is pegged at approximately Rs. 9,800 crore, according to the information provided.
The programme follows the recent distribution of regularisation pattas to 28,445 families in Visakhapatnam, where beneficiaries were granted ownership rights over land valued at Rs. 8,874 crore.
The Vijayawada initiative is expected to resolve a long-pending issue concerning house sites, particularly in the city’s hill areas, where residents have been demanding legal ownership of their properties for decades. Regularisation is expected to provide beneficiaries with greater security and legal certainty over their homes.
The pattas will benefit families across eight Assembly constituencies and 15 mandals in NTR and Krishna districts. The constituencies include Vijayawada East, Vijayawada West, Vijayawada Central, Gannavaram, Jaggayyapeta, Mylavaram, Nandigama and Tiruvuru.
Among the beneficiaries, 12,093 families belong to the Backward Classes (BC), 6,130 to the Other Castes (OC), 4,546 to the Scheduled Castes (SC), 955 are Muslim BC families and 333 belong to the Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Constituency-wise, Vijayawada East accounts for 7,990 beneficiaries, followed by Vijayawada West with 7,465 and Vijayawada Central with 5,815. The remaining beneficiaries include 602 in Gannavaram, 1,135 in Jaggayyapeta, 981 in Mylavaram, 54 in Nandigama and 15 in Tiruvuru.
The regularisation process was taken forward following demands from residents and representations by NTR district public representatives at a recent district-level meeting.
