TRAI launches Digital Connectivity Rating Platform for properties
New Delhi, Sept 25 (TNT): The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Friday launched the Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) Platform to provide consumers with information on the digital connectivity ratings of properties and facilitate the end-to-end rating process.
The platform brings Property Managers, registered Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs) and consumers onto a common digital interface.
Property Managers can register properties, submit rating applications, upload documents, select a DCRA and track the status of their applications, the Regulatory said in a release.
Consumers can search rated properties by name, certificate ID or location, view digitally signed rating certificates and verify their authenticity through QR codes.
The information is intended to help consumers assess digital connectivity before making property purchase or lease decisions.
The platform also supports field assessments through a dedicated DCRA mobile application, enabling authorised agencies to conduct in-building digital connectivity measurements.
Assessment data and property information are synchronised on the platform, which also supports eSign, online payment of rating fees, alerts and secure storage of records and audit logs.
TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said the platform would establish a transparent and standardised framework for assessing the digital connectivity readiness of properties and provide consumers with credible and comparable information.
The DCR framework evaluates parameters including fibre readiness, mobile network availability, in-building solutions and Wi-Fi infrastructure, with applicable benchmarks for different categories of properties.
