Fight for India’s future is between Gandhi Parivar and Sangh Parivar: Telangana CM Revanth
Nilambur (Kerala), Sept 25 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday described the political contest in the country as a “fight” between the Gandhi Parivar and the Sangh Parivar and said Rahul Gandhi would become the next Prime Minister of India.
Addressing a gathering in Nilambur after receiving the Aryadan Muhammed Best Public Servant Award, Reddy said the Gandhi family had made sacrifices for the country and alleged that the Sangh Parivar was dividing India on the basis of religion, caste, region and language.
He said Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi had sacrificed their lives for the country, while Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had sacrificed positions of power.
Reddy said he had no personal political ambition left and that his “only dream” was to see Rahul Gandhi become Prime Minister.
He also referred to Kerala’s political history and described the state as a “bellwether” for national politics, claiming that changes in Kerala’s electoral choices had historically coincided with changes at the Centre.
Referring to the Congress’s electoral prospects, Reddy said a “new wind” had begun in Kerala and called for it to spread across the country.
Reddy said the political battle was also about protecting democracy, secularism, freedom and the Constitution. He accused the BJP of working against these values.
He said the best way to honour late Kerala Congress leader Aryadan Muhammed was to work to protect the values associated with him.
Reddy also said he had started his political career at the grassroots level in 2006 and had since served as ZPTC member, MLC, MLA, MP, Pradesh Congress Committee president and Chief Minister.
The Telangana Chief Minister received the Aryadan Muhammed-2026 Best Public Servant Award at a function in Nilambur.
The award was instituted by the Aryadan Muhammed Foundation in memory of the late Kerala Congress leader and carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a citation and a memento.
The foundation said Reddy was selected in recognition of his leadership and welfare initiatives.
