Hyderabad, Feb 22 (TNT) The Telangana Prisons Department on Sunday dismissed as baseless the allegations aired by certain television channels regarding alleged activities inside the Hyderabad Central Jail.
In an official clarification, the department said reports claiming that inmates had conducted mulaqats (visits) with persons having alleged terrorist links and planned attacks in key areas of the city were false.
Officials stated that the matter was verified with the relevant intelligence agencies and no reliable information was found to substantiate the claims broadcast by the channels.
The department termed the reports unfounded and urged the public not to be misled by unverified information.
