Akaash Ashok Kumar wins Karnataka State Ranking Tenpin Bowling title
Bengaluru, Sept 23 (TNT): Second seed Akaash Ashok Kumar defeated top seed Kishan R by 101 pins to win the 1st Karnataka State Ranking Tenpin Bowling Tournament, which concluded at the Amoeba Bowling Centre, Jayanagar, here.
Akaash secured an aggregate score of 451–350 over two games in the final, which was decided on cumulative pinfall.
Akaash took a commanding 75-pin lead in the opening game by scoring 232 against Kishan’s 157.
He maintained the advantage in the second game with a score of 219, while Kishan finished with 193, giving Akaash a comfortable 101-pin victory.
Earlier, Kishan R defeated fourth seed Vijay Punjabi 358–318 in the first knockout match, while Akaash overcame third seed Sahil Punjabi 447–342 in the other semi-final.
Akaash also secured the highest average in six-game blocks with 216.33 and recorded the maximum number of scores above 225, with five such scores.
Kishan R registered the highest average over 18 games at 202.61, while Preemal J recorded the highest women’s average over 12 games at 164.25.
The final standings were: Akaash Ashok Kumar, winner; Kishan R, runner-up; Sahil Punjabi, third; and Vijay Punjabi, fourth.
