Hanumakonda, Feb 22 (TNT) : Drugs Control Administration, Telangana (DCA) has raided a clinic run by an unqualified practitioner at Shayampet village in Hanumakonda district and seized medicines illegally stocked for sale.

Acting on credible information, the officials conducted a raid on Saturday at First Aid Clinic operated by Racharla Prabhakar, who was allegedly practising without proper qualifications.

During the inspection, found 30 varieties of medicines, including physician’s samples, institutional supply drugs, higher-generation antibiotics, steroids and habit-forming drugs such as Tramadol injections, said DCA Director General Shahnawaz Qasim, in a release here.

The total value of the seized stock is estimated at ₹35,000.

DCA officials cautioned that indiscriminate sale of antibiotics by unqualified persons could lead to antimicrobial resistance.

They also warned that misuse of steroids may result in serious health complications, including immune suppression, hormonal imbalance and cardiovascular issues.

The raid was carried out by Drugs Inspectors J. Kiran Kumar (Hanumakonda) and P. Shravan Kumar (Warangal) under the supervision of Dr. G. Rajyalakshmi, Assistant Director, Warangal. Samples have been lifted for analysis and further investigation is underway.
