AI-POWERED LONG-TERM CARDIAC MONITORING TECHNOLOGY ‘KARDI AI’ TO LAUNCH IN INDIA

Hyderabad, Sept 18 (TNT): AI-powered long-term cardiac monitoring technology ” Kardi Ai” developed by Czech HealthTech company is set to be launched in India on September 26, with the technology aimed at enabling longer-duration monitoring of intermittent heart-rhythm abnormalities.

Dr Ramana Jagarlamudi, Director–International Operations and Authorised Representative–India, Kardi Ai, and Dr Raghavendra Rao, Scientific Adviser and Co-Founder, Eurasia Medical Technologies LLP, announced the launch at a press conference held at FTCCI here on Friday.

The India launch is being facilitated by Hyderabad-based Eurasia Medical Technologies LLP, the Indian arm of Kardi Ai.

Kardi Ai has secured an MD-15 licence from the Government of India for import and sale in the country. The device is CE-marked under the European Union medical-device regulatory framework and is classified as an EU MDR Class IIa product, said Dr Ramana.

Its manufacturing and quality processes are aligned with ISO 13485, the international quality-management standard for medical devices, he said.

The technology combines a wearable ECG chest strap, mobile connectivity and AI-supported ECG analysis to enable long-term heart-rhythm monitoring while patients continue their normal daily activities.

The representatives said intermittent heart-rhythm abnormalities may not occur during a conventional ECG or even a 24-hour Holter examination. While a conventional ECG provides a short snapshot of heart activity and a Holter records cardiac activity for a defined period, Kardi Ai is designed to provide a longer window of observation.

The patient wears a lightweight ECG chest strap during everyday activities, with the recorded ECG data transmitted through a mobile platform. AI-supported analysis assists physicians in reviewing the data and identifying potential rhythm abnormalities.

The technology is intended to support physicians and does not replace clinical diagnosis or medical decision-making, he said.

Dr Ramana also said the device had been patented and approved by the Government of India.

Without disclosing the exact cost of the device, he said it would be available on an annual subscription basis at around Rs 40,000 per annum.
