Centre to support Amaravati Quantum Bio Valley: Nadda
Vijayawada, Sept 13 (TNT): The Centre will extend support for establishing the proposed Quantum Bio Valley in Amaravati and examine the possibility of according it national recognition, Union Health Minister J P Nadda said on Saturday.
Responding positively to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s proposal, Nadda said a technical team would be sent to Amaravati to discuss the initiative.
He described the Chief Minister’s vision for the Quantum Bio Valley as excellent and assured that the Centre would consider the various suggestions made by him.
The Union Minister was speaking after launching 10 critical care blocks and 12 integrated public health laboratories across Andhra Pradesh along with Mr Naidu in Vijayawada.
Nadda also appreciated the Sanjeevani programme being implemented by the State government and said the Centre would examine the possibility of replicating the initiative at the national level.
He assured that the Centre would support State government initiatives focused on early detection and prevention of diseases, better treatment and making healthcare services accessible to people at affordable costs.
Praising Mr Naidu’s leadership, Nadda said Andhra Pradesh was in safe hands under the Chief Minister and described him as a visionary and committed leader. said Mr Naidu’s contribution to the development of undivided Andhra Pradesh and the State after bifurcation could not be forgotten.
The Union Health Minister appreciated the State government’s focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure and said coordinated efforts by the Centre and State would help deliver better health services to people.
Referring repeatedly to Naidu’s emphasis on “the kitchen as the pharmacy and food as medicine,” Nadda said the principle was fundamental to maintaining good health and stressed the need to create greater public awareness about disease prevention through healthy dietary habits and lifestyles.
Nadda also appreciated the Chief Minister’s commitment to irrigation projects in Andhra Pradesh and welcomed the inauguration of projects including the Polavaram Left Main Canal, Veligonda and Handri-Neeva.
He said irrigation was crucial for the State’s development and that projects aimed at efficient utilisation of water resources would contribute significantly to Andhra Pradesh’s progress.
