TTD makes extensive arrangements for Srivari Brahmotsavams: Chairman Naidu
Tirumala, Sept 9 (TNT): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has completed arrangements for the annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams to be held from September 15 to 23, TTD Chairman B R Naidu said on Wednesday.
Addressing the media along with TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra after the TTD Board meeting at Annamayya Bhavan, Naidu said the festivities would begin with Ankurarpanam on September 14, followed by Dwajarohanam on September 15.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will offer silk garments to Lord Venkateswara on September 15 on behalf of the state government and participate in the Pedda Sesha Vahana Seva later that day.
The Chief Minister will inaugurate 25 electric buses donated by Reliance to TTD on September 16 and release the TTD calendars and diaries for 2027, he said.
Naidu said TTD would maintain a buffer stock of 10 lakh laddus per day during the Brahmotsavams. Around 3,000 police personnel and 2,500 TTD vigilance and security staff would be deployed, while another 3,000-3,300 personnel would be engaged for sanitation.
Garuda Seva is expected to attract 15-20 per cent more devotees than last year, he said. TTD has made arrangements to serve Annaprasadam to around 9.30 lakh devotees on Garuda Seva day, against 6.13 lakh last year.
Artists from 25 states, besides Singapore and Germany, will participate in the celebrations, Naidu said.
He said arrangements had been strengthened for darshan, accommodation, Annaprasadam, transport, security, medical services, sanitation, power supply and floral decorations in coordination with the district administration and police.
Among the key decisions taken by the TTD Board was enhancement of accident insurance for families of employees who die in accidents in Tirumala from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
The Board also approved a life insurance scheme under which Rs 2 lakh would be paid to the family of a pilgrim who dies of natural causes in Tirumala. TTD said it was a first-of-its-kind initiative in temple administration in India.
The Board approved extending Employee Health Facility (EHF) benefits to retired CPS/NPS pensioners and their families on par with OPS pensioners.
It also approved a proposal to create 400 additional outsourcing posts to augment laddu production during peak periods and sanctioned salary enhancements for 48 SLMP employees.
IOCL has offered to establish a biogas plant using food waste from Annaprasadam centres, canteens and hotels. The Board approved awarding its operation and maintenance to GPS Renewables at a cost of Rs 2.80 crore.
The Board sanctioned Rs 1.60 crore over three years towards transport charges for additional sanitation staff deployed in Tirumala.
It also approved gold plating of the Padma Peetham of Goddess Padmavathi at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Narayanavanam, and the Dhwajastambham and Balipeetham at Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Chennai, at a cost of Rs 17.05 crore.
The licence period for the TTD building allotted to the Telugu and Sanskrit Academies in Tirupati was extended for three years from November 2, 2026 to November 1, 2029.
The meeting was attended by TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, JEOs Dr A Sharath and Prabala Gopinath, CVSO K V Muralikrishna, Board members and other officials.
