Pink Power Run 3.0 to draw 20,000 participants in Hyderabad on September 27
Hyderabad, Sept 7 (TNT): The Sudha Reddy Foundation and MEIL Foundation, the CSR arm of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), on Monday announced the third edition of the Pink Power Run, an international half-marathon and community fitness initiative, to be held at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, in the city on September 27.
The event is expected to attract more than 20,000 participants and carries a total prize pool of ₹75 lakh, with awards for more than 100 winners, Sudha Reddy, Founder of the Sudha Reddy Foundation and Director, MEIL; Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri; and Dr Pragnya Chigurupati, breast oncosurgeon, said at a joint press conference here.
Sudha Reddy said the Pink Power Run was intended to go beyond being a sporting event and serve as a platform to promote fitness, preventive healthcare and early action.
She said the initiative seeks to build awareness around breast cancer and encourage healthier lifestyles across communities.
For the first time, the event will feature an official 21.097-km half marathon certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
The half marathon will be accompanied by 10-km, 5-km and 3-km categories.
Dr Pragnya Chigurupati stressed the importance of strengthening breast cancer awareness, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas where access to early detection facilities can be limited.
She emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups and early detection.
Opal Suchata Chuangsri highlighted the importance of initiatives such as the Pink Power Run in creating greater awareness about breast cancer and promoting healthier communities.
As part of its social impact programme, the Foundation has partnered with AIG Hospitals for the ‘Miles for Mammograms’ initiative.
Under the programme, for every 100 km collectively covered by participants, the Sudha Reddy Foundation will sponsor one free breast cancer screening and one free mammogram test for an underprivileged patient.
The Foundation also announced financial assistance to Ramabai Ranveer, including support for the education of her daughters and additional monetary assistance to the family.
On the occasion, the organisers unveiled the official Pink Power Run 3.0 jersey and medal and introduced a global Virtual Run, allowing participants from across the world to take part remotely without a registration fee.
Corporates, schools, families, running clubs, fitness enthusiasts and professional athletes are expected to participate.
The event is supported by corporate partners including HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, AIG and Decathlon, among others.
Registrations are open through iFinish and District.
With four race categories, an AIMS-certified half marathon, a ₹75 lakh prize pool, a global virtual format and a focus on preventive healthcare, the organisers expect the third edition to be the largest Pink Power Run so far.
