Advance arrangements for Kharif paddy procurement: Kakinada JC
Kakinada, Aug 27 (TNT): Kakinada Joint Collector Apurva Bharat on Thursday asked the officials of all the departments to make advance arrangements in coordination for procuring the paddy produced by the farmers during the 2026-27 Kharif season extending them the minimum support price.
Reviewing the Kharif season paddy procurement with the officials of the civil supplies, agriculture, transport, cooperation, legal metrology and FCI at the collectorate here , he asked them to provide all the amenities at the paddy procurement centers so as the farmers need not encounter with any problem.
As against paddy raised in 70,012 hectares in the district , till now in 50,824 hectares crop booking was completed. The machinery required for testing the wet percentage should be kept ready in all the 271 Rythu Seva Kendras.
The Transport department officials should make necessary arrangements for transporting the procured paddy to the rice mills without delay.
Similarly, the Legal metrology officials should conduct constant inspection of Way bridges under the jurisdiction of rice mills to ensure no irregularities in the weighment of the paddy. ‘ he said .
The Joint Collector further asked the officials to create awareness among the farmers to sell their paddy availing the minimum support price fixed by the state government.
Civil supplies corporation district Manager M Anandarao, District supply officer T . Prasanna Lakshmi Devi and officials of other departments took part in the deliberations.
