Aurigene signs long-term manufacturing and supply agreement with global pharma company
Hyderabad, Aug 25 (TNT): Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyderabad-based Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, has entered into a long-term Manufacturing and Supply Agreement (MSA) with a leading global pharmaceutical company for commercial drug-product manufacturing and supply across the US, Europe, Canada and emerging markets.
The agreement covers technical transfer, process development, scale-up, validation, commercial manufacturing and long-term supply, strengthening Aurigene’s drug-product CDMO and CMO capabilities, particularly in sterile injectables and biologics.
The initial portfolio comprises more than 20 products across sterile injectables, biologics and topicals, which will be manufactured at facilities in India.
Under the agreement, technology transfer is expected to be undertaken in phases over the next two to three years, leading to commercial manufacturing and supply, the pharma major said in a release here.
At full commercialisation, the portfolio is expected to generate an annual volume of around 18 million units, largely comprising injectables.
Revenues from the partnership are expected to commence from calendar year 2028.
Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services CEO Akhil Ravi said the partnership reflected the confidence of global pharmaceutical companies in its drug-product development and manufacturing capabilities, quality and regulatory track record.
He said the agreement would provide long-term revenue visibility, accelerate the scale-up of Aurigene’s drug-product business and strengthen its ability to support complex technology transfers and commercial supply.
The name of the global pharmaceutical company has not been disclosed due to confidentiality obligations under the agreement.
