Cognizant launches Talent Accelerator programme for 489 B-school graduates
Bengaluru, Aug 17 (TNT): IT major Cognizant on Monday launched its Talent Accelerator programme with 489 newly hired graduates from 58 business schools across 37 cities in India, as part of its efforts to build interdisciplinary talent for the artificial intelligence-driven business environment.
The cohort includes graduates from premier institutions such as IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, ISB Hyderabad, SPJIMR Mumbai, FMS University of Delhi and XLRI–Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, among others, the IT company said in a release here.
The two-week immersive onboarding programme is being conducted simultaneously at Cognizant facilities in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.
It is designed to familiarise new hires with the company’s values while providing functional, sales and marketing training and opportunities to interact with business and leadership teams.
Cognizant India Chairman and Managing Director and President–Global Operations Rajesh Varrier said cognitive diversity was essential to creating value for clients and associates.
He said bringing together interdisciplinary talent from across the country from the outset would foster collaboration and help new associates bridge the gap between AI capabilities and real-world business outcomes.
More than 37 per cent of the new cohort comes from non-STEM backgrounds, including liberal arts disciplines such as sociology and psychology, vocational fields such as office management and secretarial practice, and design-focused areas such as industrial design.
Women account for more than 42 per cent of the cohort, reflecting the company’s focus on inclusion.
Cognizant is also scaling its Frontier-certified workforce to 5,000 Frontier Certified Engineers and 10,000 Frontier Business Operators, which the company said would provide the human and operational infrastructure needed by enterprises to translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
