Kakinada, Feb 16 (TNT): Thangella Uday Srinivas, Member of Parliament from Kakinada, on Monday directed officials to expedite the land acquisition process for the proposed Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at Ravikampadu village in Thondangi Mandal.
The MP, along with Revenue and Railway officials, inspected the proposed site for the ROB and offered several suggestions to speed up the process.
Speaking to the media, Srinivas stated that following requests from the people of Thondangi Mandal, proposals were submitted to the Ministry of Railways in December 2024.
He also personally met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to seek sanction of funds for the project.
The Minister responded positively and sanctioned Rs. 88.13 crore under the PM Gati Shakti scheme for construction of the Railway Over Bridge.
Notification for land acquisition has already been issued.
As the required funds are readily available, the MP urged concerned departments to complete land acquisition at the earliest so that construction of the ROB can commence without delay.
