CM Revanth vows to transform Telangana into role model for nation
Hyderabad, Aug 15 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said his government was accelerating the state’s development and laying strong foundations to transform Telangana into a role model for the country, with a long-term goal of making it a $1-trillion economy by 2034 and a $3-trillion economy by 2047
He said his government had laid a strong foundation for the reconstruction and comprehensive development of the state, with a focus on welfare, social justice, infrastructure, technology and employment.
Addressing after hoisting the National flag at the historic Golconda Fort on the occasion 80th Independence Day celebrations here, the Chief Minister said the government had expanded welfare measures and was preparing a roadmap to build a prosperous Telangana.
He said the state had made significant progress in agriculture, women empowerment, education, healthcare, employment and industrial development.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana’s per capita income stood at ₹4,18,931 during 2025-26, approximately 91 per cent higher than the national average, according to the latest RBI statistics.
He said the government had waived crop loans of up to ₹2 lakh, benefiting more than 25 lakh farming families, while providing over ₹36,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa.
Telangana had also surpassed Punjab in paddy cultivation area and yield, he claimed.
On women’s welfare, the Chief Minister highlighted the Mahalakshmi scheme, under which more than 34 lakh women use free RTC travel every day, and said women across the state had saved ₹11,000 crore through the scheme.
He said the government had issued more than 15 lakh new ration cards and launched smart ration cards to improve transparency in the public distribution system. The state had also launched 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses in the first phase and sanctioned another 2.5 lakh houses in the second phase.
On employment, Revanth Reddy said more than 72,000 government jobs had been filled and recruitment processes completed for various categories, including Group-1, Group-2, Group-3, Group-4 and Mega DSC.
He said Telangana was emerging as a major destination for investments and technology, with ₹1.29 lakh crore in investments secured through TG-iPASS and IT exports reaching ₹3.97 lakh crore in 2025-26. Hyderabad currently has more than 355 Global Capability Centres, he said.
Unveiling his long-term vision, the Chief Minister said the government aimed to transform Telangana into a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2034 and a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047, while increasing the state’s share of the national GDP to 10 per cent.
He said the ‘Telangana Rising-2047’ vision would focus on building a future-ready state, with Bharat Future City being developed as a net-zero smart city and a hub for artificial intelligence, data centres, advanced manufacturing, research and innovation.
Revanth Reddy called upon the people to continue contributing to the state’s development and help transform Telangana into a role model for the country.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid a wreath at Veerula Sainik Smarak at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad.
