TTD Plans ‘Nandakam’ App to Monitor Real-Time Sanitation Issues Ahead of Brahmotsavams
Tirumala, Aug 14 (TNT): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is set to introduce ‘Nandakam’, a complaint-management app to monitor sanitation issues in real time, as part of measures to strengthen cleanliness ahead of the annual Brahmotsavams.
TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, who reviewed sanitation arrangements at a meeting held here on Friday , directed officials and agencies to step up waste-management operations across Tirumala.
The proposed app will allow sanitation-related complaints to be reported in real time, automatically escalate them to the concerned staff and track their resolution.
Officials have been asked to roll out the application next month.
The meeting reviewed sanitation quality standards, procurement of necessary materials and the use of modern equipment to improve cleanliness and maintain the sanctity of the hill shrine.
The sanitation drive will cover ghat roads, Srivari steps, the Alipiri footpath and surrounding areas, officials said.
The Additional EO appreciated the participation of volunteer groups, including ‘Mana Ooru–Mana Gudi’, and said their continued involvement had contributed to better pilgrim feedback on cleanliness.
He appealed to devotees to cooperate with sanitation personnel and take responsibility for keeping Tirumala clean by avoiding littering from vehicles and refraining from the use of single-use plastics in the shrine area.
TTD Deputy EO (Health) Somannarayana, sanitation officials, agency representatives and other officers attended the meeting.
