AP CM Naidu inaugurates Amaravati Seed Access Road, steel bridges
Amaravati, Aug 13 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday inaugurated the Amaravati Seed Access Road and steel bridges connecting the Vijayawada-Guntur old highway, describing the improved connectivity as a major step towards the development of the capital.
Addressing a public meeting after the inauguration, Naidu said Amaravati would be developed as a world-class capital based on five principles — a city without electric poles, a blue city with abundant water bodies, a green city with extensive greenery, a green-energy city and a deep-tech knowledge city with an emerging Quantum Valley.
He said Amaravati, which was earlier mocked by some as “graphics”, was now turning into reality.
“When the graphics are turning into reality, those who mocked them should bow their heads,” he remarked.
Naidu said the Seed Access Road had become the “royal road” to Amaravati and its completion marked only the beginning of the capital’s development. In the third phase, the road would be connected to the National Highway at Tadepalli, he said.
He said Amaravati would be developed as a pollution-free city and a deep-tech capital, with plans to establish an AI and Quantum Computing Valley.
The Chief Minister said Amaravati, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Guntur and Vijayawada corporations would remain within the capital region.
He said the Centre had sanctioned a 190-km Outer Ring Road and a 96-km Inner Ring Road and claimed that the fully developed Amaravati capital would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2028.
Naidu said the government was pursuing decentralised development across all regions of Andhra Pradesh and recalled the farmers’ movement between 2019 and 2024, saying their struggle would be remembered in history.
He called upon people to work collectively towards transforming Andhra Pradesh into Swarna Andhra by 2047 and urged farmers, students, workers, entrepreneurs and professionals to contribute to the development of the State and the country.
Referring to the 80th Independence Day celebrations, Naidu urged people to hoist the National Flag at every house and commercial establishment and organise Tiranga rallies at mandal, Assembly constituency and district levels.
He said merely hoisting the National Flag was not enough and called for measurable goals to help make India a developed nation.
The Chief Minister also urged people to contribute ideas for Amaravati’s development and said the capital should emerge as the economic capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Later, Naidu inspected the newly completed residential complex for MLAs and MLCs at Rayapudi. The Capital Region Development Authority formally handed over the complex to the General Administration Department through the Chief Minister.
The residential complex comprises 12 towers with 288 flats.
Ministers P Narayana and Nadendla Manohar accompanied the Chief Minister.
