TTD completes second phase of Srivari Seva trainer programme for 1888 Group Supervisors
Tirumala, Aug 12(TNT): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Wednesday completed the second phase of its Srivari Seva “Train the Trainer” programme, with 1,888 Group Supervisors trained in 10 batches over 43 days.
The second phase, which began on July 1, was conducted following Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s call to further strengthen Srivari Seva and improve the quality of services provided to devotees.
Group Supervisors from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and other Hindi-speaking states participated in the programme. With 1,011 supervisors trained during the first phase, nearly 3,000 Group Supervisors have now been trained, TTD said.
The programme focused on improving the service skills, discipline, leadership and communication abilities of Srivari Seva volunteers.
The trained supervisors will conduct pre-Tirumala training for volunteers registered online in their respective mandals and districts before they arrive at Tirumala.
Faculty from the TTD Veda Patashala, experts from various TTD departments and other resource persons conducted sessions on the significance of Tirumala, the glory of Lord Sri Venkateswara, temple rituals and Kainkaryams, areas of volunteer service and CPR, among other subjects.
As part of the programme, participants were taken to various service locations, including Laddu counters, Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex, Kalyanakatta, Vaikuntham Queue Complex and reception areas, to gain practical knowledge of volunteer services and the challenges encountered while assisting devotees.
Around 200 volunteers participated in each batch.
Training kits and Group Supervisor Training Manuals were distributed to the participants, along with spiritual publications brought out by the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad.
From August 1, five retired Gazetted Officers were deployed as Principal Supervisors to monitor the functioning of Group Supervisors and ensure effective implementation of services at the field level.
Some volunteers trained during the first phase also participated in the second phase to share their practical experiences with other trainees.
The programme was supervised by former Associate Professor of the National Cooperative Training Institute under the Ministry of Cooperation and HR consultant Dr S.L.N.T. Srinivas, TTD Chief Public Relations Officer Dr T. Ravi, PRO (FAC) Ms Neelima and Srivari Seva coordinators.
Senior Srivari Seva volunteer Sarath from Tamil Nadu also played a key role in designing the training programme for Tamil-speaking regions.
The first phase of the programme commenced on December 1, 2025 and concluded on February 7, 2026, with around 1,011 Group Supervisors trained in 10 batches.
Based on the experience gained during the first phase, TTD prescribed graduation as the minimum educational qualification for the second phase and accepted applications only through the online mode.
TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra, Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, the Chief Priest of Srivari Temple, representatives of Ramakrishna Mutt-Tirupati and Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti, heads of various TTD departments and other officials also provided training on different aspects related to TTD.
With the completion of the second phase, TTD now has a pool of nearly 3,000 trained Group Supervisors, which it said would help strengthen field-level supervision and improve the quality and discipline of Srivari Seva for devotees.
