German Consul General visits AP’s Sri City, explores investment opportunities
Sri City, Aug 12 (TNT): Consul General of Germany in Chennai Michael Hasper visited Sri City on Wednesday and discussed opportunities to strengthen German investments and Indo-German business ties.
Hasper was received by Sri City Senior Vice President (Marketing) R Shivasankar.
Sri City Managing Director Dr Ravindra Sannareddy briefed him on the industrial township’s integrated ecosystem, strategic location, infrastructure and investor-friendly services.
Sannareddy said German companies including Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Knauf and Kankyo Bert were already operating at Sri City and expressed confidence that the Consul General’s visit would facilitate further German investments.
He said Sri City offered global investors a platform that combined India’s industrial potential with Germany’s engineering expertise.
The Consul General was briefed on incentives offered by the Centre and the Andhra Pradesh government, including tax benefits, subsidies, sector-specific schemes, fast-track approvals and skill-development programmes. The state’s “3S” policy of Speed, Stability and Service was also highlighted.
Impressed by Sri City’s planned layout, infrastructure and business-friendly ecosystem, Hasper described it as a global model for attracting German investments.
He said Germany was an important trading partner of India and the country’s expanding market and supportive policies offered significant opportunities for German companies.
Hasper also highlighted the scope for Indo-German cooperation beyond manufacturing, particularly in education and skill development.
During his visit, he toured key facilities at Sri City and visited the Knauf manufacturing plant, where he interacted with the company’s employees.
The visit is expected to further strengthen Indo-German business engagement and reinforce Sri City’s position as a preferred destination for international investment.
