Hyderabad, Feb 16 (TNT): Sanofi Healthcare India Pvt. Ltd. on Monday announced a major expansion of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, reinforcing India’s growing stature as a global hub for biopharma innovation and enterprise operations.
The expansion adds over 2.7 lakh square feet of state-of-the-art workspace within its existing campus in Hitech City and increases workforce capacity from the earlier projected 2,600 to approximately 4,500 employees, the Healthcare company said in a release here.
With this scale-up, the Hyderabad centre is set to become one of Sanofi’s largest global talent hubs and among the top three pharma GCCs in India.
Backed by a multi-hundred-million-dollar investment, the expansion will generate highly skilled roles across research and development, AI and digital innovation, data analytics, medical affairs, commercial operations, finance, procurement, and corporate services.
Sanofi’s Hyderabad GCC, first launched in 2019 with a focus on medical services, has evolved into a strategic global hub supporting end-to-end processes across drug research, development, manufacturing, and access.
The expanded centre will further strengthen Sanofi’s AI-powered transformation and operational efficiencies worldwide.
The facility was inaugurated by Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the expansion reflects the state’s emergence as a global innovation-driven life sciences hub, supporting high-skilled employment and digital transformation.
The development also aligns with Telangana’s push to transition from a manufacturing base to a strategic innovation and digital powerhouse for global enterprises.
Built as a future-forward and environmentally sustainable campus, the GCC integrates AI, intelligent automation, and digital health capabilities.
It is designed to improve productivity, reduce errors, and accelerate decision-making across Sanofi’s global value chain.
Madeleine Roach, EVP and Head of Business Operations at Sanofi, said India’s strong talent pool in digital innovation, AI, and data science is playing a critical role in advancing the company’s R&D-led, AI-powered biopharma strategy.
The expansion enhances Hyderabad’s positioning as a preferred destination for global capability centres in high-value sectors such as pharmaceuticals and healthcare technology, while reinforcing Sanofi’s long-term commitment to India’s life sciences ecosystem.
With this move, Sanofi deepens its India footprint, leveraging the country not just as a market or manufacturing base, but as a strategic innovation engine for its global operations.
