GJC announces 15th edition of National Jewellery Awards

Mumbai, Aug 11 (TNT): The All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) on Tuesday announced the 15th edition of the National Jewellery Awards (NJA’26), recognising excellence and innovation across India’s gem and jewellery industry.

Entries for the awards are now open and jewellers, designers, women entrepreneurs and students from across the country can submit their entries through the GJC portal until August 22, the Council said in a release.

The winners will be announced on October 3 at the Jio World Convention Centre here during the India Gem and Jewellery Show (GJS) Diwali Edition.

The awards will feature five segments comprising 12 categories and 28 sub-categories covering jewellery design, craftsmanship, retailing, manufacturing, branding and business innovation.

GJC said the awards aim to provide a national platform for recognising talent, promoting creativity and innovation and showcasing the capabilities of Indian jewellers.

The winners will be selected through a multi-tier evaluation process involving a Grand Jury and Screening Jury. Entries will be assessed on parameters including design aesthetics, originality, craftsmanship, finishing, innovation, quality and market impact.

Ernst & Young (EY) will serve as the Independent Process Advisor for the awards, GJC said.

GJC Chairman Rajesh Rokde said the 15th edition reflected the growing stature of India’s jewellery industry and would provide nationwide recognition to exceptional talent.

He said the awards would help promote design, craftsmanship and innovation while supporting the “Make in India” vision and showcasing the capabilities of Indian jewellers.

GJC Vice Chairman Avinash Gupta said NJA had emerged as a platform providing recognition to talent and helping businesses enhance their reach and reputation.

NJA Convenor Sunil Poddar said the awards continued to spotlight artisans, designers and industry visionaries whose creativity and innovation were shaping the future of the jewellery sector.

Joint Convenor Rupesh Tambi said the 15th edition would further strengthen the awards’ commitment to a fair, transparent and process-driven selection mechanism.

Joint Convenor Sumeet Anand said NJA had evolved into a benchmark of credibility and prestige in the Indian jewellery industry.
