Expedite Old City Metro works, procure additional coaches: Telangana CM
Hyderabad, Aug 11 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to expedite works on the proposed Old City Metro corridor under Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II and initiate the tender process at the earliest.
Reviewing the project with senior officials of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) here, the Chief Minister directed officials to speed up road widening works along the 7.5-km MGBS-Chandrayangutta stretch and complete the pending land acquisition process.
He instructed officials to finalise the Metro expansion plans and initiate the tender process for the corridor.
Taking note of the steady increase in Hyderabad Metro ridership, Revanth Reddy directed officials to procure additional Metro coaches to meet the growing passenger demand.
He also asked officials to consult Delhi Metro authorities on the appropriate technology to be adopted for the MGBS-Chandrayangutta corridor.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed preliminary arrangements for the Invest Telangana Global Summit scheduled for December.
He directed officials to ensure that the summit was organised to international standards with the objective of attracting global investments to Telangana.
The Chief Minister also asked officials to prepare a detailed report on investments attracted and progress achieved following last year’s summit and formulate plans to further enhance investment inflows into the state.
He directed officials to make necessary arrangements for the summit and prepare plans to honour prominent personalities from various business sectors.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Government Advisors Ramakrishna Rao and NVS Reddy, HMRL Managing Director Sarfaraz Ahmed, Additional MD Ajit Reddy and other officials attended the meeting.
