Bhatti Woos US Investors for Telangana, Highlights Future City and Emerging Mobility
San Francisco, Aug 8 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday pitched the state as an investment destination to US-based industrialists, technology companies and the Telugu diaspora, highlighting industrial land availability, skilled manpower, reliable power and infrastructure as key advantages.
Addressing a Meet and Greet organised by the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, Bhatti said Telangana was seeking investments across manufacturing, IT, life sciences, clean energy and advanced industries as part of its ambition to build a $3 trillion economy.
He said industrial corridors and parks were being developed with adequate land to facilitate new investments, while the government was strengthening the Young India Skills University and other technical and educational institutions to create a workforce aligned with the requirements of emerging industries.
Power, clearances key to investment pitch
Bhatti said Telangana could provide industries with quality power round the clock, while the state was simultaneously expanding renewable energy capacity alongside conventional generation.
The government was also strengthening its single-window clearance system to speed up approvals and reduce delays for investors, he said.
Future City positioned as investment hub
The Deputy Chief Minister said the proposed Future City was being developed around advanced technology, modern infrastructure and sustainable urban planning and would serve as a platform to attract global companies and investments.
He said the state was particularly focusing on IT, pharmaceuticals, green energy, advanced manufacturing and knowledge-based industries as part of its strategy to expand the state’s economic base.
Bhatti called on the Telugu diaspora in the US to participate in Telangana’s growth not only through capital investment but also through technology transfer, innovation and expansion of businesses.
Telangana explores autonomous mobility
During his US visit, Bhatti travelled in a Waymo autonomous vehicle in San Francisco and subsequently held discussions with Waymo representatives on the technology and its potential applications.
The discussions covered the infrastructure required for autonomous mobility, including high-resolution mapping, sensor-compatible road infrastructure, dedicated testing corridors, data connectivity and AI computing capabilities.
Bhatti also explored the possibility of introducing autonomous mobility solutions on a pilot basis in Hyderabad and Future City, besides discussing regulatory and policy requirements for conducting trials and scaling up the technology.
The Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana would examine the integration of next-generation mobility technologies into the urban development plans of Hyderabad and Future City, with the objective of positioning the state as an emerging hub for smart and autonomous mobility solutions.
